Faeries,

Do you believe?

By morning light, I knew Holt did not sleep very well.
He was pretty restless, and probably thirsty and hungry
So I set off to find the morning dew
I shut my bedroom door,
where is that kitten?

What am I going to put the dew drops in?
I spotted my sewing basket,
a thimble, yes a thimble,
this would be Holts' drinking cup.
It didn't take too long to get dew at dawn
I would hurry,
Holt was waiting and it was up to me
to care for him.
When I returned, there was kitten waiting

to get in the cottage for her breakfast too.
So kitten came in with me, I got her fed
all-the-while
talking with Holt.
I asked him what he would like to eat
He said berries would be just fine,
I told him about my thimble as a drinking cup
he said that was a grand idea.

Now with kitten and Holt taken care of
it was time for my tea.

I would have my routine set out for the next fortnight.
I had enough dew drops for Holt for the day
and he wasn't going anywhere
at least until his wing healed
It really wasn't comfortable,
him lying on his tummy all the time,
but this was the only way.

I asked him how we would get the web off him
He said that it would just go away
the next time he was sitting in the rain.
