Faeries,

Do you believe?

On the way home,
I asked Holt if his name had a special meaning.
He told me it meant,
'son of the unspoiled forest.'
I thought this was a fitting name
for a woodland faery.
As I walked along,
we mostly talked about what I would need to do
How we would fix his wing
What he ate
Afterall, I had never taken care of a faery before
Apparently, faeries drink dew drops,
and their diet is mostly
mushrooms, berries,
seeds,
certain flower petals and vegetables.
Which really shouldn't be too surprising
considering they live in the forest
But I was really surprised to learn
in order to fix his wee wing,
I would have to find a spider web
Well, I don't think this would be too difficult.
Other things we talked about
was the May 11th, Faery Festival
Holt told me that he would have to miss it
His wing would take two weeks to heal
and the festival was only 7 days away.
He had never missed one before,
but he was truly grateful for my help
and if all went well he would attend the one in the fall.
Pretty soon, I could see the grove
where my cottage was
Time went quick,
when you had someone to talk to, along the way.
